About the role

Our Carole Park branch is a high performing operation and is one of largest branches in SouthPAC with a blend of Workshop/Service, Master Rebuild Centre and Corporate functions on site. With a strong heavy automotive focus, our service team consists of approx. 40 people including technicians and managers/advisors. With your engaging leadership style, you will manage the service operations in the branch via 7 direct reports.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage all service operations including trades service staff via your workshop manager and 6 service advisors.

  • Provide technical guidance and help resolve the most complex business problems for those on the team.

  • Manage all service resources including employee hours/availability, materials, equipment and shared resources with the MRC ensuring safety, quality, and efficient operations.

  • Manage a substantial department budget, ensuring our WIP’s and service expenses are closely monitored.

  • Review key performance indicators for service operations and addresses issues, opportunities, trends and initiate improvements.

  • Develop and mentor your 7 direct reports, identify opportunities for growth and advancement.

  • Actively engage with our diverse customer base to foster closer working relationships and grow our Service Department financials.

  • Work within a highly structured environment, learning Cummins systems and processes.

About you

  • Strong leadership experience, leading a medium to large size team (30 ) of trades and supervisors and apprentices through a layered reporting structure.

  • Leadership experience within the automotive or associated industry, with leadership qualification well regarded but not essential.

  • A mechanical automotive trades background with a strong technical knowledge base.

  • Experience managing a substantial service department budget.

  • An engaging and energetic leadership style with a genuine passion for customers and developing relationships.

  • A passion for people and keen interest in motivating and influencing the team on an individual level.

  • Able to work within a structured environment to ensure compliance requirements by positively engaging the team in the processes
