About the role

Our Cummins Filtration Kilsyth branch is offering a rare 13-month full time Quality and HSE Internship opportunity commencing 1stof February 2020 for a currentOHS or Environment undergraduate student.

“What Will You Do”

  • Liaising with key internal stakeholders

  • Data management, analysis & report writing

  • Take ownership for our non-conformity system and processes (following training)

  • Prepare and present status reports for material board review

  • Development, evaluation improvement of documenting manufacturing processes & flow

  • Product and process quality improvement through structured problem-solving methodologies

  • Participate in community involvement teams

  • Supporting the HSE South Pacific team with some project work 

  • Conducting research and investigation for projects in specific areas of Health, Safety and environment 

  • Supporting the development of training packages and kits for the Regional leaders 

  • Managing the completion of project reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis with the Regional Health, Safety and Environment leaders 

  • Understanding of HSE or Quality Standards and involvement in compliance audits, legal and systems

  • Preparing and publishing the monthly Health, Safety and Environment reports 

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this internship, it is essential that you:

  • Are currently studying an undergraduate OHS or EnvironmentDegree

  • Have between 1 and 8 units of study left to complete of your Bachelors degree as of February 2020

  • Are available for the full 13 months and be willing to defer your studies for that duration

  • Possess Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency

Note: Applicants that do not meet these qualifying requirements unfortunately will not be considered.

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A keen interest in theOHS and Environmentanalysis

  • Technical strength in statistics and numerical analysis

  • A confident, outgoing approach to seek out necessary information to achieve set outcomes

  • A keen interest in developing your HSE knowledge to complement your HSE or non HSE Degree 

  • Be interested in the development and delivery of projects 

  • Ability to engage and develop strong stakeholder relationships with a remotely located national team  

  • Clear communication skills, both written and verbal 

  • Time management skills and ability to multi-task 

  • An interest and willingness to learn and develop new skills in a diverse organisation 

  • Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality 

  • Strong computer literacy and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite 

  • Valid car driving license highly preferred
