We are looking for a talented Trades Assistant to join our team specialising in Engine repairs and maintenance for our Auckland branch.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Completes repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision.
Applies documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.
Disassemble, inspect and clean engines and /or engine components.
Assists with completion required documentation, such as work completed documentation, timesheets, warranty claims and quality forms, via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.
Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
Actively learning through experimentation when tackling new problems, using both successes and failures as learning fodder.
Plans and aligns - Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
Creates and verifies customer, equipment and technical information; captures specific data using required service tools; follows procedures and documents required information in the service management system in order to have an accurate record of the work done.
Able to repair and maintain mechanical/electrical products following guidelines, using required tools within standard repair time to ensure a quality repair.
Demonstrates knowledge of Cummins and industry standards by complying with all safe work procedures including Personal Protective Equipment to create a safe work environment; applies mechanical principles and theories using appropriate tools and procedures to diagnose and repair products safely and efficiently.
Communicates effectively and champions and models proactive health and safety behaviors.
