About the role:

You’ll be based in our busy Mt Isa Branch where the focus is on our industry leading On-Highway engine and High Horse Power product range. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this newly created role will support both our external customers and our internal service department with the interpretation, sale and supply of parts. You will also:

  • Be the initial point of contact for our Mt Isa region providing parts interpreting and supply support to our predominately mining and heavy on highway customers

  • Be a part of a wider regional warehousing and parts team across Qld, with ongoing Cummins support from Townsville and Brisbane

  • Work closely with our Mt Isa Storeperson providing cover and support for daily activities in the warehouse including stock control, stock returns, back orders and track and tracing expected deliveries

  • Manage inventory ordering, cycle counting and freight management

  • Actively promote the selling and upselling of Cummins products including engine parts, filtration and lubricant products

  • Support phone based and walk in customers

  • Maintain departmental KPI’s and focus on continuous improvement

  • Support other functions in the branch and in cross functional roles

About you

  • Have a proven background in parts interpretation or warehousing

  • Have a basic understanding of engines (technical knowledge not required) or a keen interest in the automotive industry

  • An understanding of the processes that are used for warehousing

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • The ability to prioritise conflicting tasks and experience in conflict resolution

  • Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • A genuine commitment to delivering the highest level of customer service

  • Have an understanding of / exposure to customer retail

  • A forklift licence is very highly regarded

  • Heavy diesel or light automotive experience is advantageous
