We are looking for a talented Mechanic to join our Team in Pooraka, SA . This role will see you as part of a team of workshop technicians specialising in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining high horsepower engines.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop

  • Applies documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools

  • Disassemble, inspect, clean, and reassemble engines and /or engine components.

  • Performs preventative maintenance based on assessment of engines

  • Assists more experienced technicians with diagnostics and development of repair plans for engines in the workshop

  • Completes required documentation, such as work completed documents, time sheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens

  • Completes training in line with skill and business requirements

  • Maintains work area and tools for cleanliness and proper operation

  • Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to their supervisor.

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Trade qualified heavy diesel engine electrician is preferred

  • Minimal level of workshop related experience required

  • Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

  • A current, valid driver’s license

  • Be keen to upskill with Cummins product training

  • Put safety first, every task every day

  • Occasional travel to rail customer sites for diagnosis and/or repair work
