About the role

Our Scoresby head office is currently looking for a 12 month full time Health and Safety Intern commencing late January 2019 who is keen to utilise theoretical skills learnt in their degree and develop practical skills in the workforce. This is a unique opportunity to gains skills and knowledge while you are working full time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders

  • Be embedded within our Asia Pacific Legal team, supporting the wider team across the region

  • Coordinating the development and drafting of training materials

  • Conducting research and investigation for projects in specific areas of Health, Safety and environment

  • Supporting in the development of training packages and kits for the Regional leaders

  • Managing the completion of project scorecards on a monthly and quarterly basis with the Regional Health, Safety and Environment leaders

  • Preparing and publishing the monthly Health, Safety and Environment reports

  • Responsibility for drafting the Asia Pacific Corporate Responsibility Newsletter. This includes identifying and soliciting for relevant stories from the country CR and CIT Leaders for inclusion in the monthly newsletter.

  • Participate in community involvement teams

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Currently in your penultimate year (with a minimum of 1 full semester of study remaining) studying an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Safety OR/

  • Currently in your penultimate year (with a minimum of 1 full semester of study remaining) studying an undergraduate degree inHealth or Environmental Sciences, Business, HR or similar PLUS completion of Health and Safety subjects either within your current course or in previous HSE study OR/

  • Currently in your penultimate year (with a minimum of 1 full semester of study remaining) studying a 2 year HSE qualification at Diploma/Advanced Diploma level.

  • A confident, outgoing individual who will seek out necessary information to achieve set outcomes

  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • An organised self-starter who can show outstanding initiative

  • Strong attention to detail

  • The ability to learn and grasp new concepts quickly

  • An appetite for taking on new challenges

  • Time management skills and ability to multi-task

  • An interest and willingness to learn and develop new skills in a diverse organisation

  • Great interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Ability to understand and maintain confidentiality

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite

  • Valid car driving license highly preferred

    This is a 12 month, full time, paid placement and the successful candidate will be required to defer their studies for the duration of the program .
