Regional Purchasing Leader South Pacific

Description

We are looking for a talented Purchasing Leader to join our team based at our Asia Pacific headquarters in Scoresby. In this role you will partner with the business and lead the sourcing team in the application of our sourcing strategies across the region.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Collaborates with peers and others to produce direct and/or indirect sourcing and purchasing strategies.

  • Implements policies and tracks supplier and team performance to ensure that Cummins business goals are realized with respect to market-driven supply chains.

  • Manages sourcing and purchasing strategies aimed at reducing cost, minimizing risk, fostering innovation and optimizing business processes.

  • Sets goals for and manages category strategy, commodity, and/or project teams.

  • Promotes alignment of purchasing strategy with business unit and supply chain goals and identifies, plans, and implements continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain.

  • Builds strong supplier relationships; serves as primary contact for issue resolution with suppliers

  • Leads and manages purchasing projects and leads certain commodity teams at the business unit or corporate level.

  • Manages the supplier selection process and conducts complex supplier negotiations and contracts.

  • Leads the analysis of key trends/issues in supply and total cost of ownership for assigned products.

  • Strong leadership skills in order to foster a motivated and enabled team environment

  • Demonstrated experience similar role

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to see ahead to future possibilities and translate them into breakthrough strategies.

  • Good analytical skills with ability to work with large amounts of data and compile complex business insight and reports

  • History of identifying cost saving opportunities and generating savings for the business

  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence stakeholders

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication, with proven ability to influence, negotiate and deliver in a fast-paced environment
