About the role

This role will be responsible for the completion of tax obligations for legal entities in Australia, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand including tax returns, FBT and GST. Liaising with the Global Tax Team, the Tax and Reporting Analyst will develop the Governance Framework for Taxation, will prepare the TP documentation and associated schedules.

This role is also responsible for the preparation of external financial reporting deliverables, liaising with external Auditors and ensuring the integrity of the consolidation ledger and balances.

As part of the reporting team, this role will be involved with the internal group reporting, submission of consolidated results, will perform complex and interpretive financial analyses and prepare special studies and reports to support the business objectives.

This role will also support and business partner with stakeholders in relation to various finance processes providing support and insights to the local senior leadership team.

Key Duties:

  • Preparation of tax returns, completed accurately and lodged with appropriate authorities in a timely manner

  • Develop tax framework in multinational setting

  • Prepare TP documentation

  • Ensuring tax calculations are accurate and comply with the relevant tax legislation

  • Implementation and continuous improvement of an effective process to ensure compliance with Australian, Papua New Guinea & New Zealand tax legislation, policies and procedures

  • Support financial accounting, governance, audit and group related financial reporting

  • Ensuring timely submission of external financial reporting deliverables

  • Analysis of statutory reports and commentaries in collaboration with external Auditors

  • Senior stakeholder engagement and the ability to interact with the wider business

  • Prepare complex analysis in preparation for monthly group reporting

  • Financial Analysis to support decision making

  • Driving improvements within Financial Control function

About you

  • Degree qualified professional, CA or CPA qualification

  • A strong background in Taxation, IFRS and statutory reporting

  • 6-7 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally with a background from the big 4

  • Financial reporting experience, particularly evaluating results and solutions to support business decisions in compliance with regulations and stakeholder expectations.

  • Collaborating with a range of stakeholders in a business environment

  • Effective and adaptable written and verbal communication

  • ERP system experience

  • Demonstrate a drive for results, passion for outcomes and are self-motivated

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines with a focus on results and business solutions
