About the role
Reporting to the Service Manager, this role will see you join a dedicate duo alternating weeks at the CuCEDO Copper Mine near Cloncurry, dedicated to maintaining power to the mine site. You will primarily be responsible for providing accurate troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance to Cummins engines, primarily QSK 60’s, as a part of the mines 16 engine gen set.
You will also:
Provide great customer support to our CuDECO stakeholders
Work within the site specific safety regulations and procedures, with a strong focus in safetyWork with the schedulers, planners and supervisors on site to organise and commence repairs
Accurately complete repairs, maintenance and rebuilds to HHP engines in accordance with Cummins recommended policies, procedures and guidelines
Maintain proper tooling to enable efficient repair performance
Complete all work packages in the 4C’s format (complaint, cause, correction, coverage), feeding corrective action into the preventative maintenance strategy
Ensure all documentation is completed accurately
Proactively look for opportunities for continuous improvement
Actively communicate with our customers, promoting our products and services onsite
Diesel Mechanic Trade Qualification (with dual trades qualifications very highly regarded)
Previous experience trouble shooting and repairing engines, ideally in power generation
Ideally have previous Cummins engine experience
Current unrestricted driver’s licence is essential
Great written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
Ability to analyse problems to determine underlying causes
Ability to work autonomously within a broad diverse work environment
Willingness and flexibility to work reasonable overtime and rosters to meet customer needs
Experience and motivation to actively drive safety culture and right work environment
