We areseeking an experienced Supervisor to join our close-knit Darwin branch. This key appointment will be responsible for providing leadership to our dedicated electrical team.
About the Role
Reporting into the Service Manager, this role contributes to the success of Cummins by delivering legendary customer service to both internal and external customers. This position is accountable for the electrical and mechanical service employees that comprise the Power Generation team. Expectations for the leadership and management of this team are to the highest standard whereby the incumbent supervisor / leader is challenged to deliver on the three principle Cummins objectives: (1) creating the ‘right’ workplace environment; (2) first choice for customers; and (3) financial performance over the cycle.
Some responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ensure legendary service is portrayed to all customers through frequent, clear communication.
Lead a team of 2 electricians, 1 resident technician & 2 electrical apprentices
Emphasis placed on management of workflow and seeking out opportunities to improve the process and utilization.
Regularly engage and communicate with customers’, attend customer sites and prepare quotes for installations, repairs and service related events.
Coach and develop Technicians and/or apprentices and transfer knowledge and experience to others.
Source out opportunities for growth and promote Cummins products and brand
Prepare reports on work direction, review of repair/installation plans, parts lists, etc
Adhere & complete the Cummins guidelines for repair event processing,
Adheres to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation.
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:
An NT ‘A’ grade electrical license
Have completed the pre-requisites for the NT electrical contractors licence
Experience in a supervisory or leadership role
Previous experience as an electrician in industrial or commercial field
Excellent verbal communication, organisational & time management skills
High level of experience, attention to detail and accuracy in report writing
Proficient computer skills
Ability to coach and mentor our service technicians through complex service interventions and diagnostic issues
Ability to identify opportunities for work process improvements and recommend appropriate action
